NOISE gets a workshop production at The Tank!

The chance to see my musical, Noise, on its feet for the first time was nothing short of incredible. I’m beyond grateful for the amazing team that came together to bring this thing to life, and to The Tank for giving us such a legendary space to call artistic home!

A bit about the piece:

When Dr. Kenton began conducting a study on a college campus, she thought she was on the brink of a biomedical breakthrough. Today, she appears before a jury. Elsewhere, an unlikely friendship between two college students takes a bitter turn. As these stories unfold and begin to echo one another, lines blur between the past as we remember it, and the future as we fear it. Noise is a new musical about the interconnectedness of our pasts and our futures, and the ways we can be blinded by our ghosts.

The cast featured ABSOLUTE HEARTBREAKERS Mary VanArsdel, Rozie Baker, Stefan Schallack, Bryan Freedman and Karen Marulanda. The brilliant Jess Slaght was in the director’s seat, and Jeremy Jacobs shredded it on the keys. We somehow scored scenic designer Jessie Baldinger, lighting designer CJ Pierce, sound designer Lindsey Ratliff, and stage manager Sofia Shah. Basically, I’m the newest hardcore fan of every single one of these people. Check them out, and keep your eyes peeled for some exciting NOISE updates on the horizon!

Titchfield Festival Theatre’s New Songwriters Concert!

In-person theatre?! In England?!

I’m so excited to see a song from Noise performed by Emily Hall at Titchfield Festival Theatre, as a part of their New Songwriters Concert! Titchfield Festival Theatre is Europe’s first sustainable theatre – even their stage lighting is powered by solar panels! – as well as a really exciting spot for Shakespeare plays, musical theatre, and new works. So it’s safe to say I’m majorly geeking out!

If I happen to have any friends in England I don’t know about, go support this awesome theatre, and catch the New Songwriters Concert this Saturday! Anyone interested in live streaming it can reach out to me for a link.

York Theatre’s New Works Concert!

I was so excited to be selected as a finalist for the York Theatre‘s 2020 NEO Concert for Emerging Writers this past March. When the event was cancelled due to the pandemic, I was psyched to be invited to share a few tunes in the York Theatre’s (virtual) New Works Concert! The event will be streamed on the York Theatre’s Youtube and Facebook pages on Friday, January 22nd, at 7pm.

Some seriously talented actors will be singing ~never before heard~ songs from my new musical, Noise, alongside selections of new work by other awesome emerging composers!
